  • Since 1960, total crimes have increased by more than 300% (nearly 14 million per year), and 90% of Americans will be the victims of theft at least once in their lives.
  • On any given day, more than 20,000 phone calls are made to domestic violence hotlines, and 20 people are physically assaulted by an intimate partner every minute.
Religious Freedom
  • In one study, 63% of American Christians believe religious persecution is growing in this country and that religious liberty is on the decline due to legislative and court related decisions.
  • According to the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, Christians are the most persecuted group worldwide and Christian Freedom International indicates that a Christian is killed for his or her faith every five minutes somewhere across the globe.
  • The unfolding persecution of Christians in America has progressed from attempting to stereotype the demographic, followed by justifying the discrimination, then marginalizing their role in society, and finally, by criminalizing their businesses, educational institutions, and places of worship.

Marriage and Family
  • 45-50% percent of all first marriages and 60-70% of second marriages still end in divorce.

Money Matters

  • Millennials are the most educated generation in American history with 63% having a Bachelor’s degree, while 50% consider themselves content creators and 75% share content online.
  • Less than 40% of Millennials say religion is very important in their lives, and only 27% attend religious services on a regular basis; yet, 55% still think about the meaning and purpose of life.
Liability and Risk
  • Coverage, competency, consent, confidentiality, and compliance are just some of the areas where churches and ministry organizations risk exposure to lawsuits, and most need to expand their general liability policies to cover certain levels of exposure.
  • In court cases and lawsuits against faith-based entities, First Amendment rights impact property disputes, employment of clergy, treatment or discipline of members, and misconduct by employees.
  • Christians in the United States file 4-8 million lawsuits every year resulting in $20–$40 billion in costs, and the three companies that insure the majority of protestant churches say they typically receive over 250 reports every year of minors being sexually abused by clergy, church staff, volunteers, or congregation members.
